The WSWBA Difference

The West Sydney Wolves Basketball Association philosophy is to grow the game of basketball with youth across Sydney and NSW by teaching skills, values, and encouraging an active healthy lifestyle in a positive, safe and fun environment.

At West Sydney Wolves Basketball Association our key focus is to implement a world-class grassroots development program, provide opportunities and pathways for our youth and community, encourage and increase participation of girls and women in sport, and develop high character athletes that will become  assets to their team and community.

Basketball is FUN and everyone at WSWBA loves basketball and is dedicated to ensuring every player, parent, referee, and coach has positive experience. Whether its learning to play at our grassroots programs or participating in a senior competition, it’s all about having FUN.

Developing skills is an essential part of learning the game. WSWBA recognises that skill development at the grassroots or advanced level is a process that is especially important for all parents and players. Our coaching staff are selected for their passion, dedication and their ability to teach the game to our youth and senior players. Each coach is screened, trained and accredited through the WSWBA coaching system, so parents can feel their child begins their basketball education correctly.

The game of basketball is a great platform that provides everyone involved in the game the opportunity to learn valuable life lessons. The lessons learned in the WSWBA curriculum will be with our players for a lifetime. WSWBA has developed a culture and mission aptly named ‘The West Sydney Wolves Way” this requires that all coaches, staff, and members promote and live by these values. It all begins with a collective determination and mindset to conduct oneself appropriately in all circumstances.

The great part of sports and the game of basketball is that it promotes a healthy life style across many aspects of life. The West Sydney Wolves want to empower, educate, and encourage young players to lead a healthy life style through the game of basketball. WSWBA will provide resources to educate players about nutrition, training plans, rest, recovery and themes of wellness.

Our “West Sydney Wolves Way” and values is the code we all live by and inspires us, it runs deep through anything and everything we do, it is our hope that it will become a part of all our members.
